The founder
My name is Keegan Halloran, and I founded Greater Belvidere Soccer Club because the Greater Belvidere area deserves the same access to elite coaching that other regions already have.
This is my tenth year coaching soccer. I'm currently in my second year as Head Coach of Belvidere High School Boys' Varsity Soccer. Before that, I spent two years coaching for West Morris Soccer Club, seven years as an Academy Coach with Liverpool's International Academy of New Jersey, and one year as the Assistant Men's Coach at Raritan Valley Community College. I've also spent five years as a referee, which has given me a complete view of the game from every side of the field.
Over those ten years, I've made a commute of at least 30 minutes nearly every day — not because the Greater Belvidere area lacks talented players, but because it's lacked a club offering that level of development close to home. Regions to our north, east, west, and south have had access to clubs like this for years. Greater Belvidere Soccer Club is my attempt to bring that same opportunity here, so families no longer have to look elsewhere to find it.
Looking ahead, my goal for GBSC goes beyond affordable, high-quality youth development — it's to build a genuine pathway for our players toward the professional level, whether that means preparing them to earn spots within professional academy systems or, in time, establishing that kind of setting right here in the Greater Belvidere area.
